This is a story that has been told many times: Boy raised by mother, trying to find his place in the world, and not be associated with his villainous father.
Everyone is familiar with the Lego movies by now. Quirky, parody type movies that do more to make us laugh than to teach lessons. In this movie, Lloyd is a 16 year old high school student that is shunned by his peers because his dad is the Evil Warlord Garmadon. He is troubled by the antics of his father and by how his classmates respond, but he also has a secret...a secret identity. Ninjago is rated PG. It’s considered an action movie and has fight scenes. Jackie Chan, Dave Franco and Jason Theroux are the 3 most heard voices in the film. The story does involve an absentee father, so it may distress children that are in similar situations. Overall it’s a silly movie that does teach the viewers that it’s important to be true to yourself. It doesn’t matter who your friends or family are, you are your own person and you can be whatever you want to be.
